Social The class has been working with groups to research regions of Canada. Yesterday we practiced summarizing and presenting the information we found. We used the information to create a region of Canada info document . We then used our research and that document to create our own multiple-choice questions which were used to make a Region of Canada Kahoot. Science We did a couple of hands-on experiments involving the properties of air. We have made balloon rockets, used a hair dryer and Bernulies Principle to suspend pingpong balls in mid-air, used chemical reactions (baking soda and vinegar) to blow up balloons and made our own scales to measure the mass of air in a balloon. Language Arts Students had the chance to practice presenting their Giver Final Project s. Math In Math, we have beenbuilding on what we know about fractions and parts of numbers to represent in new ways. We are representing parts of numbers using pictures, fractions, ratios decimals and percentages. We practiced these skills by completing Factions and percentages worksheets . We also completed our Friday 5 which should be shared with parents at home. Science In Science, we reviewed the Scientific Method . We then used it to complete several hands-on experiments that demonstrated different properties of air. We completed the Columns of air experiment and the Ball race experiment . We also started our weather watch. Each day different students will make and record weather observations relating to the temperature, wind, clouds, precipitation and atmospheric pressure. They will share their observations with the class in our daily weather report. We also have used a variety of cloud resources to learn about and identify dif...
