Thank you to all the students and parents who met with me at parent-teacher conferences. If Parents were not able to join us or would like to arrange another time to meet, they can always reach out and we will work together to find a convenient time.

It's been an exhilarating week filled with exploration and discovery in our classroom. Let's dive into the highlights of our journey through various subjects:

Science:
Our young scientists have been hard at work delving into space research. They've dedicated their time to crafting informative and engaging slide shows about objects in our solar system, which they'll be presenting next week.
We also started reviewing and will be preparing for upcoming unit quizzes. I have included a link to a study guide that can be used along with Mr. Polsky's website and other links I have shared previously.

Mathematics
In the realm of numbers and patterns, our students have been sharpening their problem-solving skills. We've been focusing on representing patterns and utilizing them to tackle a diverse array of mathematical challenges. To further reinforce their learning, students have completed a "Friday 5" task, which they should share with parents, ensuring its completion by Monday.

Social Studies
We have been exploring different communities (hamlets, villages, towns and cities) in Alberta. Students have wrapped up their research and reflection questions, offering them a deeper understanding of the rich tapestry of our local society. This research and the reflections are our home writing journal this week and should be shared with parents and completed for Monday!

Language Arts
We've embarked on a literary adventure through the pages of "Maniac Magee" this week. As we journeyed alongside the protagonist, students have been honing their summarizing skills and fortifying their reading comprehension abilities through a variety of engaging activities.

Music
In March, our students learned about opera, exploring its rich history and importance in modern entertainment. They learned about and identified different voice types while listening to various singers. We had the privilege of watching a production of "Beauty and the Beast" by Calgary Opera, where students shared their insights and opinions on elements of theatre such as costumes, sets, and character portrayal. We were extremely impressed by the vocal performances in “Beauty and the Beast” and found ourselves deeply engaged in the emotional storyline.

Links to all of the assignments and resources mentioned are provided on our google classroom page.
